BREAKING: US Bans TRF, KRF, and Kashmir Resistance as Offshoots of Lashkar-e-Taiba: A Major Diplomatic Win for India

The U.S. has officially called The Resistance Front (TRF), Kashmir Resistance Front (KRF), and Kashmir Resistance offshoots of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist outfit. This is a big win for India’s diplomacy. This article looks at what the U.S. decision means for the battle against terrorism and what it means for the U.S.

TRF

America has officially recognized TRF as part of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The TRF-KRF ban is a big win for India.

The United States government has formally recognized the Resistance Front (TRF), Kashmir Resistance Front (KRF), and Kashmir Resistance as offshoots of the notorious Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist organization. This is a big step forward in the fight against terrorism around the world. India has achieved a major diplomatic victory by getting TRF, KRF, and Kashmir Resistance recognized and then banned. This is in line with India’s long-held belief that these groups are only fronts for Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The U.S. is taking action against terrorist groups supported by Pakistan.

Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has been using the Kashmir Resistance Front (KRF) and Kashmir Resistance for more than two years as a way to hide its terrorist actions behind different identities. The U.S. government has now included these offshoots to its list of terrorist groups, making it clear that they are directly connected to LeT.

Sources say they have exclusive documents that show the U.S. government’s Federal Register shows that the U.S. State Department has kept Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) status. They have also added its other names, such as The Resistance Front (TRF), Kashmir Resistance Front (KRF), and Kashmir Resistance. On July 18, 2025, this decision was made public. It was taken after talking to the U.S. Attorney General and Treasury Secretary.

The TRF, KRF, and Kashmir Resistance are now officially banned.

The new rule makes sure that the TRF, KRF, and Kashmir Resistance will be punished in the same way that Lashkar-e-Taiba is. This includes freezing any assets in the U.S., stopping any business with U.S. citizens, and banning travel. The U.S. government’s commitment to fighting terrorism is strengthened by this judgment, which was made under the Immigration and Nationality Act (Section 219) and Executive Order 13224.

India has long said that these outfits are only fronts for Lashkar-e-Taiba, even though they act like they are their own groups. The U.S. decision is a big triumph for India’s fight against terrorism since it supports India’s view that these outfits are not autonomous terrorist organizations but rather proxies for Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Why America’s Decision Matters: A Diplomatic Win for India

This verdict is a big gain for India’s diplomacy since it makes the international community more sure that Pakistan is involved in terrorism. Pakistan has always disputed that TRF exists and that it has ties to LeT. However, this step by the U.S. is a clear criticism of Pakistan’s continuous support for terrorism over the border in Kashmir.

Pakistan has not wanted to admit that TRF was involved in incidents like the Pahalgam terrorist attack and has even opposed its inclusion in United Nations Security Council (UNSC) pronouncements. The United States has now directly disagreed with Pakistan’s claim that TRF is not a terrorist group.

Sajjad Gul’s Role and Lashkar’s Plan

Sajjad Gul, a high-ranking commander who has been in charge of planning operations all throughout Kashmir, is one of the most important people behind TRF, the Kashmir Resistance Front, and Kashmir Resistance. Gul has been hiding in Pakistan since 2018, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India has offered a ₹10 lakh reward for his capture.

Lashkar-e-Taiba tries to avoid being held responsible for their terrorist acts by forming groups like TRF, KRF, and Kashmir Resistance. Lashkar tries to avoid world attention by utilizing these fake names while still supporting bloodshed in Jammu and Kashmir.

Lashkar’s “Offshoots”: The Plan

Lashkar-e-Taiba’s way of doing things is to make a lot of offshoots that accept the blame for terrorist activities while keeping the main group from being blamed directly. These groups, such as TRF, KRF, and Kashmir Resistance, are basically used to take credit for attacks without directly linking them to LeT. The Kashmir Resistance organization took credit for the Pahalgam attack; however, it was later found out that Lashkar-e-Taiba planned it.

For years, Lashkar has been able to stay under the radar of international watchdogs by employing proxies and aliases. However, this tactic has been greatly weakened now that the U.S. has formally named these groups as part of LeT.

Conclusion: A Turning Point in the Global Fight Against Terrorism

The U.S. made it known to Pakistan and other countries that support terrorism that The Resistance Front (TRF), Kashmir Resistance Front (KRF), and Kashmir Resistance are all branches of Lashkar-e-Taiba. It also shows that more and more people are understanding India’s worries about terrorism coming from Pakistan and its allies.

India’s diplomatic efforts, which were supported by this decision by the U.S., have successfully shown how Lashkar-e-Taiba continues to operate under other names, which is a major concern to the area. This judgment is a big win in the fight for peace and safety in Kashmir and beyond as the rest of the world takes a stronger stand against terrorism.
