New Delhi/Beijing, 12 August 2025:
For the first time in five years, direct passenger flights between India and China are set to resume, possibly as early as next month, reports citing Bloomberg and government insiders confirm.

Indian airlines, including Air India and IndiGo, have been instructed to prepare for immediate deployment once a formal announcement is made—likely during the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. The resumption is viewed as a positive step in mending strained bilateral ties and reviving people-to-people and business exchanges.
