Bangladesh Air Force Training Aircraft Crashes Near School, Smoke Spreads in the Sky; Children Seen Running

On July 21, 2025, a Bangladesh Air Force training plane crashed near a school in Dhaka, marking a tragic event. The crash occurred in Diabari, located in the northern section of Dhaka city. One person died, and numerous others were hurt when the training plane crashed.

The Crash: What Happened

A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 training plane hit the Milestone College building just after taking off at about 1:30 PM. People nearby could see a large cloud of smoke rising from the collision site, according to reports. Numerous recordings of the incident quickly spread on social media after it occurred. The recordings showed scared college students scrambling for safety.

Immediate Action

As soon as they heard about the incident, the army and fire department in Bangladesh hurried to the scene. It is not yet clear how many people were hurt; however, it is thought that several people were hurt in the crash and the debris that followed. Emergency responders immediately transported the injured individuals to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The crash happened just 24 minutes after takeoff.

Available information says that the F-7 training plane left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at about 1:06 PM. Sadly, the plane crashed only 24 minutes later, at about 1:30 PM. A high-ranking airport official confirmed the circumstances of the event. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident by examining the wreckage.

The Chinese business Chengdu Aircraft Corporation made the F-7 fighter plane that crashed. It is a single-seater. There are also several models of the plane that have two seats. The F-7 is recognized for being fast and agile, with a top speed of Mach 2.02, which is about 2,120 kilometers per hour. Several air forces around the world, particularly those of Bangladesh, have extensively utilized this aircraft.
